Arts of Armenia

Established in the summer of 2008 by the visionary Director of the Komitas Choir, Dn. Rubik Mailian, Arts of Armenia began with a clear mission: to teach the parish’s children the rich and diverse arts of Armenia. This initiative aimed to create a unique cultural exchange between Armenian educators and the next generation of Armenian-American youth, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for Armenia’s visual and performing arts. Arts of Armenia is a vibrant week-long summer program sponsored by the St. John Armenian Church Komitas Choir. For further details, contact Dn. Rubik at rubik@sjachurch.org. To register, contact Lisa Mardigian at (586) 808-2202 or email lmardigian@sjachurch.org

Diocese Scholarships

The Eastern Diocese grants scholarships to undergraduate students. These scholarships are for Armenian-American students attending accredited 4-year undergraduate universities. Preference will be given to those who are active in the life of the Armenian church. This program is only open to U.S. Citizens.

The application and reference forms must be submitted electronically by going to their website at Scholarships – The Armenian Church

Looys Ministry

Since we established our Looys Ministry in 2022, our volunteers have reached out to many individuals who are alone and without contact of the St. John community. Some of our outreach includes preparing food, transportation services, visits, and phone calls to many of these individuals. One cannot measure the importance of reaching out to someone who is out of touch per say.

If you know of anyone who might appreciate such services, please contact Denise or George for more information.
